Ronald Mark Toney's Obituary
Ronald Mark Toney, 71, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Mark was born in Decatur on September 13, 1954, the sixth of seven sons born to Byron Frank and Mary Jane (Coyle) Toney. He attended Mary W. French Elementary School, Woodrow Wilson Junior High School, Stephen Decatur High School, and the University of Illinois.
Mark spent many years in the electrical wholesale industry, the Clinton Power Station, and most recently was a dedicated employee in corporate security.
As a self-taught musician, Mark was proficient on numerous instruments. He always enjoyed trying new recipes, baking bread, and cooking. A strong support of the St. Louis Cardinals, he held strong with his love of the Green Bay Packers despite his family’s tradition of being Chicago Bears fans. Mark enjoyed the friendly banter between teams and family members.
Mark is survived by his six brothers, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law. Mark will be greatly missed. His relatives will remain forever grateful for having him as part of their lives.
