Ronald E. Wise's Obituary
Ronald Emil "Buster" Wise 75 of Decatur died Thursday February 8, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services celebrating Buster's life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park with Military Honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Buster was born on May 25, 1931 in Decatur the son of Daniel and Hattie Pianka Wise. He graduated from Decatur High School. He served his country proudly in the US Navy. He worked for and retired from Caterpillar in June of 1989.He was an avid sportsman his entire life. Buster played and coached fast pitch softball. He also taught girls how to pitch fast pitch softball and helped them receive scholarships to various colleges. He was also a member of the Elks, Moose, VFW and Decatur Athletic Club.
He is survived by his daughters Dianne Tom Fitzgibbon of West Arlington Heights; Marla Jesse Thornton of Scottsdale, AZ, brothers Daniel Marion Wise of Maryland; Jim Marge Wise of Ohio; Duane Janet of Lake forest; Gene Linda of Decatur; two grandchildren, Alex Cunningham and Greg Cunningham; one great-grandchild, Aidan Cunningham; many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, John Daniel Wise.
