Rosa Marie Cobb's Obituary
Rosa Marie Jennings Cobb 60 was called home to glory Tuesday Nov. 4, 2008, in her home.
Rosa was born Dec 27, 1947, In Tunica MS. The daughter of Sylvester Jennings and Mary Smith Jennings. The family moved to Caruthersville, MO, in 1968 where Rosa taught Jr. High School. She met and married the love of her life, Charles E. Cobb Sr. on Sept 9, 1968, and to this union they were blessed with three children, Shirlene Sunseray Cobb, Charles L. Cobb Jr. and Marvin D. Cobb of Decatur. Rosa and her family moved to Decatur in 1974.
Rosa was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, and served as a choir member. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She loved helping organizations such as United Way, Salvation Army and the School P.T.A.
Rosa was employed by Millikin/Magna Bank for twenty one years until illness caused her to take an extended medical leave.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband of forty years her children, one stepson Charles Reginald Lewis Okla., City Ok; mother Mary Jennings, Inkester MI; sisters, Mary Weldon, Inkester MI; Willie Bell Parnell, Dorothy Wilburn Caruthersville MO; brothers Eugene Jennings, Caruthersville, Mo; Sylvester Jennings, Alton, IL; Henry Jennings, Portageville MO; five grandchildren: Kiara Thomas, Suntavia Thomas, Imani Mackias and Naseem Cobb; great granddaughter, Kaliyah Thomas all of Decatur.
A special daughter she helped raise, Joyce John Dozier, special friends, Susan Williams, Davida Bond and Tresa Perry all of Decatur, Il; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, one sister and two brothers.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Dolores Estrada-Garcia and Dr. Yoon Hyung.
Home going service: 12 pm, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with visitation one hour before. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park.
