Rosa Lee James' Obituary
Rosa Lee James, 83, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016.
Rosa Lee was born March 7, 1933 in Arcola, IL, the daughter of Harry and Alma (Trotter) Beiler. She was a bridal consultant for Gates Brides World in Mt. Zion. Rosa Lee was a member of the Ski Club of Illinois, and was the first woman president of the Ski Club. She enjoyed garage sales as she was known as the Queen of garage sales, she also enjoyed crafting, being a seamstress, and most of all, loved spending time with her family. When she became a great-grandmother, she titled herself as the “The Great One”. Rosa Lee married the love of her life, Carl G. James on June 24, 1951, in Decatur. Carl preceded her in death on May 14, 2004. They shared fifty-three wonderful years together.
Rosa Lee is survived by her son, Bill James of Decatur; daughter, Shelly (Mike) Chenoweth of Oreana; six grandchildren, Cara Good, Randy Riley, Christine (Brian) Blassi, Ryan (Cacindra) Gibbens, Billy James, Chelsea (Robert) Groess; thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, including, Cindy Morrison, Harry Ferguson and Curt Ferguson.
Rose Lee is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Becky Gibbens, sisters, Pauline (Wayne) Ferguson and Mary Grunden, and great grandson, Cody.
Visitation will be held from 10 am-12 noon Saturday, September 3, 2016 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. A celebration of life will immediately follow the visitation at 12 noon on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Burial will follow in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Make A Wish Foundation.
