Rose Ann Oyler's Obituary
Rose Ann Oyler, 84, of Decatur, died on Thursday, March 18, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2004 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Jeff Grant celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Rose Romano Oyler Scholarship Fund.
Rose was born on November 07, 1919 in Decatur, the daughter of Rocco and Domenica Brienza Romano. She retired in 1984 from St. Mary's Hospital where she had worked as a supervisor in the business office. Rose was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, a member of the Italian Women's Group, and a longtime volunteer for the Blood Mobile. Rose, along with her sister Marie, owned and operated Romano's Pizzeria for several years. She loved embroidering, working with ceramics and collecting Beanie Babies. Rose married Harold. E. Oyler on June 23, 1941 in Decatur.
Surviving is her husband of more than 62 years; daughter, Antoinette "Toni" Munn, husband Dean of Springfield; brothers: Frank Paul Romano of Sullivan; Benny Romano, wife Betty and Jim Romano, wife Barbara all of Decatur; sisters: Mary Frank of Dana Point, CA; Marie Potrafka of Decatur; Frances Richison, husband Jack of Austin, TX; Angeline Barr, husband Dewey of Decatur; grandchildren: Dean Munn, wife Liz; Michael Munn, wife Kim; Ann Tank, husband Mark; and Dr. Eric Munn, wife Nicole; great grandchildren: Michelle and Jacquie Munn, Andrew and Marissa Tank, Erica and Annaliese Munn, and Zoe Munn. Many-many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Her parents and 3 brothers: Paul, Dominic and Tony Romano preceded him in death.
