Rose Marie "Rosie" Bowman's Obituary
Rose Marie “Rosie” Bowman, 39, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at 10:57 pm Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was greeted in heaven by her brother, John.
Rosie was born in Decatur on March 29, 1970. She is the daughter of John Edward Meyers and Charlene Crowell Dolly and a 1988 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School. Those who knew Rosie were well aware of her passion for NASCAR racing-especially number 88. Her hobbies included 4×4 “ing”, motorcycle excursions, cross-stitching and visiting by the campfire with friends. Rosie was a member of Decatur-Macon County Humane Society and ABATE.
Surviving are her wonderful loving parents: John Lesa Meyers and Charlene James Dolly; husband, Mike Bowman; sister, Rachel husband, Jeff Harris; step-sisters: Cara and Kendall Dolly; nieces: Megan, Morgan and Paige Harris; maternal grandmother, Juanita Gigi Crowell; and dog, Carly. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rosie was preceded in death by her dear friend and brother, John Charles Meyers; maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
The family of Rosie is overwhelmingly grateful for the continued support of many friends, present/past employers and the entire community. Rosie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to DMH Hospice and Dr. James Wade for their un-wavering compassion.
Please join us in celebrating Rosie’s life at a Memorial Mass of the Resurrection that will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Rev. Jeff Grant celebrant. Interment will be at a later date at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: DMH Hospice and/or Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
