Rosemary T. Foley's Obituary
Decatur – Rosemary T. Foley, 94, of Decatur, passed away on Monday August 3, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Rosie was born August 31, 1920 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Oscar and Susan (Lofy) Gietl. She was a member of Ss. James and Patrick Catholic Church and retired from Kirkland Library at Millikin University. Rosie enjoyed attending church services and saying her rosary. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. Although her memory faded, she never lost her witty sense of humor and kind, gracious way with others. Her face lit up when she saw her great grandchildren and she loved to hold them on her lap.
Surviving are her children: Tom Foley, Ed (Pat) Foley, Mary Kay Gunnels (Mike), and Susan Altig (Allen); grandchildren: Jennifer, Jason, and Becky of Ohio, Crystal (Levi) Edgecombe, Jacob Smith of Decatur and many great grandchildren, and dearest friend Ellen Parr.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd W. Foley, infant son Jimmy, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 407 E. Eldorado St, Decatur, IL 62523, Rev. John Burnette, celebrant. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to Ss. James and Patrick Catholic Church.
