Roy Leon Cole's Obituary
Decatur-Roy Leon “Sonny” Cole, 67 of Decatur, passed away 6:17 am Monday, July 11, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Sonny was born on March 31, 1944 in Nokomis, IL the son of Jesse and Myrtle Rhodes Cole. He was employed by D & R Battery and Springfield Battery.
He leaves behind two sons Jeff Cole and Bruce Burke, his daughter Therese McClelland; his brother Lyle Linda Cole of Hillsboro, IL; two sisters Ella Pratt and Geneva Roady both of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and his best friend and brother-in-law Melvin Roady.
Services to celebrate Sonny’s life will be 2:00 pm Friday, July 15, 2011 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor John Fultz officiating. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Committal services will follow at Witt Cemetery in Witt, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
