Roy S. Morville, Jr.'s Obituary
Roy S. Morville, Jr. 75, of Decatur, died on Wed, Mar. 14, 2007, in his home.
Funeral services will be 10 am Tues, Mar. 20, 2007, at First General Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to DMH Hospice.
Roy was born on Aug 6, 1931, in St. Louis, MO the son of Roy F. and Opal Fern Stuart Morville. Roy was a well known union painter and a member of the Local Painters Union #288 where he served many years as treasurer. His many years of experience came from Day's Paint Store where he worked in high school. He then transferred the family to Orange, CA. where he worked at the Pratt & Lambert Plant. When he returned to Illinois he worked for Schnipps & Associates. In 1972 he joined the local painters union where he worked until his retirement in 1997. Roy married Carolyn A. Oldfield Oct. 18, 1984.
Surviving is his wife, Carolyn of Decatur; sons: Allan Judie Morville of Decatur, Rodney Morville of Decatur, Timothy Morville of Warrensburg, and Keith Morville of Fairfield; daughters: Carolyn DeLaughter of Decatur and Shelly Jo West of Fairfield; step-children: Randy Victoria Clark of Decatur, Dan Hopkins of LaPlace, Steve Hopkins of Decatur, Sue Alexander of Indianapolis, IN, Tami Robert Thorne of Schertz, TX, and Lisa Fred Haynes of Hillsboro, OH; brothers: Warren D. Morville, and Donald Margaret Morville all of Decatur; sisters: June Maurice Turner of Decatur, and Beverly Wood of Las Vegas, NV; brothers-in-law: Byron Westerfield , and Richard Wagner both of Decatur ; 26 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; wives: Mildred Maxine Standerfer and Beverly Jean Padgett; sisters: Frances Westerfield and Sandra J. Wagner; step-son, Leo Scott Clark.
