Ruth A. Westerfield's Obituary
Ruth A. Westerfield, 84 of Decatur, entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 13, 2003 in her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 A.M. Wednesday July 16, 2003 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Jeff Grant celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Services entrusted to J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ruth was born on June 11, 1919 in Still Water, OK., the daughter of Emma Harrington Boozan. She worked as a waitress for Woolworth's in downtown Decatur and then at Tom's Grill. Ruth was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She married Richard E. Westerfield on October 25, 1937 in Palmyra MO., and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1996.
Surviving are her sons: Richard Lee Westerfield and Roger Eugene Westerfield both of Decatur; daughter, Ruth Ann Robert C. Oyler of Decatur; sister, Catherine Seibert of Decatur; sisters in law: Virginia Philbrick of WA., Mable Westerfield of Monmouth, Barb Ganschow of Palatine; brother in law, Byron Westerfield of Decatur; grandchildren: Richard Lee Westerfield II, Darrin Dwayne Westerfield, Lori Ann Wilson, Lisa Bundy, Brian Westerfield, Brad Westerfield, Aaron Westerfield, Jason Westerfield, Julie Anne Westerfield, Christopher Westerfield, Melissa Westerfield, Angeline Marie Cook, Dianna Sue Wall, Gerald Allen Oyler, Rodney Lee Oyler, Kimberly Kay Flemming, Robert Eugene Oyler; 41 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her parents, husband, brothers: Patrick, John and James Boozan; and 2 great-great grandchildren preceded her in death.
