To all my cousins,I will miss Uncle Sam and my heart goes out to all of you and your families. I fondly remember coming over to your house for parties and such. With his passing, I am recalling all kinds of subtle and little ways Uncle Sam influenced me…from the Izaak Walton league scholarship to my job as the museum curator in a wildlife sanctuary today just to name one. I was just out in Washington DC last week and I was thinking of the time Sam drove Duane, and my father and me to an Izaak Walton convention in Baltimore in the summer of 1976 and we drove down to Washington DC before going back to Decatur. The people of this community are better off because of him and Mother Earth is as well.I was glad to be able to become reacquainted again when Sam would come to my window at Soy Capital Bank.
