Blue Mound – Samuel A. “Sam” Thomas Jr, 59, of Blue Mound, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at his home.
Sam was born on May 9, 1964, in Quincy, IL, a son of Samuel A. and Marilyn (Borghorst) Thomas Sr. He worked as a self-employed handy man who loved to fish and camp. Sam married Rhonda M. Clendenen on June 19, 1995, in Decatur, IL.
Surviving is his wife, Rhonda; children: Kristen (Jamie) Parsons, Steven Thomas, Scott (Emily) Thomas, Andrew (Halee) Clendenen, and Amanda (Clayton) Hastings; 20 grandchildren; special aunt Nancy Sanders; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, son Ryan Thomas, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
In honor of his wishes, cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. Family and friends will gather for a memorial visitation from 3pm to 5pm, Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. There will be no formal service.
