Sandra Armour's Obituary
Decatur-Sandra Marceline Morris Armour passed at 2:41 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Sandra or Marcie, whichever name you used, was a fun loving free spirit. Sandra never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. She was born January 12, 1938 in Paducah, KY, to Tully and Louella Morris. She moved to Decatur in 1964. Sandra worked at Lincoln State Annex for many years. She retired in1997 from working as a cook. Sandra was married to Eugene Armour. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of The Living God Temple #4, where she was known for tipping in with one of her beautiful hats, suit, shoes, and matching purse.
I met Sandra in 1965 and she treated me as a daughter ever since. Marcie is the name I used and she would correct me and say Mom.
Sandra will be missed by Leon, all of her other family, friends, and neighbors at the Hartford.
She leaves fond memories to cherish: son Leon Morris of Decatur and children, Tony Johnson, Steven Jones, Leonquis Morris, and Erica Austin all of Decatur; Martez Morris of Tennessee; and Shaleonta Davis of Washington State, stepsons Tony Holliman of Middletown, PA, Leland Nancy Jones , James Henning, and Rodney and Brian Armour all of Decatur, stepdaughters Bessie Eldridge Taylor of Decatur, Mae Thomas Tansil of Greenfield, TN, Mable Brett Taylor, Odessa Armour Bradford, Shanette Johnny Williams and Verenita Williams, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and sep-great-grandchildren, special granddaughter Jauna Williams whom she took care of and loved dearly, brother James Mitchell of Paducah, KY, stepbrother Larry Albritton of Carbondale, sister Murrell Proctor of Paducah, KY, goddaughter and friend Jackie Shores, and a host nephews, nieces, and friends, and special niece Antoinette Hiram Boone of Evanston.
My Auntie maintained a heavenly relationship with our Lord and Savior that enabled her to be surrounded by people that loved her. Know she is with God. I will miss our Sunday morning talks while we got ready for church. I will miss her guiding love but I know I will see her again in heaven. She lives in my heart. By Antoinette Boone.
She was greeted in heaven with her parents, husband Eugene, sisters Bobbie and Mary Williams, and a grandchild.
