Sarah Pauline Lofland's Obituary
Sarah Pauline Lofland, 86, of Decatur, died Sunday, September 21, 2008, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in Boiling Springs Church of God, with Pastor Keith Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church and 6 – 8 P.M. Tuesday, in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Boiling Springs Church of God.
Sarah was born on February 9, 1922, in Vandalia, IL, to Jared and Bertha Usray Barbee. She was a member of Boiling Springs Church of God, and W.C.S.C. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and watching wrestling on Friday nights. She married Orville E. Lofland on August 23, 1938, in Vandalia.
Surviving are her husband, Orville; children, Vivian Ewing Don of Cedar Hill, MO; Kenneth Lofland of Long Creek; Bonnie Craft Hughie of Blue Mound; Russell Lofland Darlene of Pana; Janet Lofland of Decatur; Cheryl Miller of Decatur; and Jeffery Lofland of Macon; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John Richard Lofland and Thomas Lofland; two sisters, Bessie Schallinburg and Betty Abendorth.
The family of Sarah Pauline Lofland is being served by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2801 N. Monroe St., Decatur.
