Sarah E. Walker's Obituary
Decatur- Sarah Eudora Walker, 89, of Colorado Springs, formerly of Decatur, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Glen Gracious Retirement Living.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, visitation will be from 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the donor’s choice.
Dora was born June 26, 1922 in Loretto, KY, the daughter of Brian and Bridget Matting. She is an alumnus of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Maple Mount, Kentucky. She was a retired business office supervisor for Southeastern Bell. She was part of the WAVES during WWII. Dora met William “Red” Walker in Atlanta after he had returned from the reserves. They were married February 23, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky.
She is survived by her husband, brothers; David Mattingly, Bryan Mattingly, and William Mattingly, sisters; Mary Frances Conn, Emma Jean Miles, Mary B Mattingly, and Ann Sophia Barr, daughter; Patricia Donald Burge, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, one son Bill, brother; Bill Mattingly, and a sister; Benita Lamkin.
