Savannah Currie's Obituary
Savannah Currie, 80, of Decatur, passed from this life Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Ms. Currie was born July 11, 1929, in Waterloo, MS, the daughter of George and Estella Piggie Brown and later adopted by Richard and Pearl Perkins. A member of Northside Baptist Church, Ms. Currie worked in house keeping at McKinley Court Nursing Home for 30 plus years before retiring in 2007. She married George Currie in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Also preceding her in death were her sons: Frank and Ricky; daughter, Pearline; granddaughters: Christina and Tierra; four brothers and three sisters.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her children: Sammy Woodard, Ed Lisa Perkins, and Robert Woodard of Oklahoma, Dorothy Walker, Charles Woodard, Lynn Rainer, and Tina Steve Shaw of Decatur, Thelma Gerald Johnson and Garland Pam Woodard of Houston, TX, and Gloria Woodard of Danville; sister, Ida Ford of Decatur; special brother-in-law, Nate Duckworth; special granddaughters: Tela Woodard and Temea Rainer and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

The family would like to especially thank Dr. G. Patel and his staff and the staff at Fair Havens Christian Home for the loving care shown to Ms. Currie.
Homegoing service: 11 am, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Northside Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church. Interment: Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery.
