Sharon Diane Hill simlin's Obituary
Sharon Diane Hill Simlin, 56, of Champaign, Illinois, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010, in Champaign's Provena Covenant Hospital.
Sharon was born on February 1, 1954, the second child of Jeff deceased and Lorrainne Rosemary Hill. Their first born, Richard Edward Hill also preceded her in death. She married Michael Simlin Sr. on October 10, 1992.
Sharon attended Oakland Elementary School, Woodrow Wilson Middle School and graduated from MacArthur High School. She was employed at Manor Care and Lincoln Manor Nursing Homes in Decatur. In Champaign, she was a supervisor at Neiman Foods, Inc.
At an early age, Sharon joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Champaign, where her father, Rev. Edd Jackson was pastor. Most recently she united with Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Champaign.
Sharon was a generous person who loved her family and friends, and would give her last dime to someone else whom she felt needed it more. She was also a great soloist who loved to sing "until the power of the Lord came down."
Left to Cherish fond memories are a loving and devoted husband, Michael Simlin, Sr. of Champaign; parents Rev. Edd and Lorrainne Rosemary Jackson of Decatur; sister, Carla Jackson of Springfield; daughter, Tiffany Keith Taliaferro of Decatur; sons, Michael Michelle Simlin Jr. and Edward Simlin of Champaign; sister-in-law, Jean Cooper of Rantoul; brother-in-law, Eddie Simlin of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Justin, Joshalyn and Gabriel JorTaye Taliaferro of Decatur; Morgan Vonner, Zsayla and Michael Simlin III and foster children Misty and Craig Nelson; a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Homegoing Service will be 12 pm, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Champaign. Committal service will be at 12 pm, Thursday, September 9, 2010 in Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur.
