Shirley J. Wombacher's Obituary
Decatur – Shirley J. Wombacher, 78, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her home surrounded by family.
Shirley was born June 24, 1935 in Decatur, the daughter of S. Ray and Leona (Seitz) Franklin. She worked for 50 years prior to her retirement last year. Her positions included sales associate at Goldblatt’s Department Store; contact lens lab technician; CNA; licensed real estate associate; ADM executive dining room staff; licensed pharmacy technician; and retired from the Decatur Macon County Senior Center as an outreach specialist. Shirley was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, a Moose VFW member, and belonged to the Red Hat Society. She was also an avid reader, and loved spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her son John Wombacher Jr. of Peoria, IL; daughters Judy Ann (Michael) Minton of Decatur, IL; Jill Chamblin of Decatur, IL; brother Donald (Laura) Franklin of Texas; and sister Delores (Robert) Spelbring of Decatur, IL. Her extended family includes nieces, nephews, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was loved by her family and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by John C. Wombacher Sr., her daughter Jean Carol Shartzer, parents, brother, Roger Franklin and nephew William Spelbring.

Memorial visitation will be 12 – 1:30 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Macon County Animal Shelter or donor’s choice.
