Sondra L. Wooley's Obituary
Sondra Leota Wooley, 74, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Sondra was born August 3, 1944 in Springfield, IL to Heinz and Hildred (Meyer) Johns. She graduated from St. Teresa in 1962. She married William, “Larry” Wooley in 1976. He passed away September 14, 2011. Sondra was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Bement Country Opry. Sondra was born with an ear and love of music. Music was her passion her entire life. She also loved dogs and to rescue animals.
She is survived by her sister, Rebecca (Ron) Kosnik of Jackson, MI; eight nephews; one niece; and five great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; and her brother, David Johns.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church before the service. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Decatur and Macon County Humane Society, Lupus Foundation of America 2121 K Street NW, Suite 200 Washington, DC 20037, or the Donor’s Choice.
