Susan Boone's Obituary
Susan Boone, 55, of Decatur departed this life at 1:40 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in her home with her family by her bedside.
Susan was born on February 16, 1959 in Brownsville, TN the daughter of Tommie and Geraldine (Adams) Beasley. Susan attended Decatur Public schools. In 2007, Susan married James Boone. She was a welder for the railroads, for several years. She also worked at the rummage room, and helped her late husband and two of her brother’s roof a few houses here in Decatur. Susan had a big heart and was a fighter. She fought this illness for seven long years.
She leaves not to mourn but cherish her memories to her son, Alphonso Jr., (fiancé Cherita), two daughters, Tanika Williams and Andretta Johns (Robby) all of Decatur, IL; her eight grandchildren, Alphonso III, William, Kyle, Anna, Dawson, Ny’Aja, La’Bron, and Kayden all of Decatur, IL; her dad, Tommie Lou Beasley of Millington, TN, two brothers, Curtis Beasley (Dallas); Jimmie Beasley(Easter); four sisters., Willie be Sutton(Robert) of Decatur; Clara Beasley of Decatur; Martha Russell of Wichita, KS, and Sharon Williams of Millington, TN; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, grandparents, mother, and daughter, Geraldine Harrison, five brother, three sisters, and two nieces.
The family would like to thank Dr. Atluri, Dr. Esparaz, St. Mary’s, DMH, DMH Hospice staff for all their hard work throughout the years. Special thanks to Pastor Bell and her church home Solid Rock Full Gospel Center.
Homegoing Celebration will be 11 AM Saturday, July26, 2014 in Solid Rock Full Gospel Center, 1160 E. Locust St. Decatur, IL 62521. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
