Taylor Lowery, Jr.'s Obituary
Taylor Lowery, Jr. 74, of Decatur, died on Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Farewell and tribute services will be 11 am Sat. Sept. 2, 2006 at the Church of the Living God CWFF, Pastor Elston Carter officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the services. Interment will be 11 am Tues. Sept. 5, 2006 at Camp Butler National Cemetery; military rites will be conducted by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
Taylor was born on July 17, 1932 in Princeton, KY the son of Taylor and Fannie Mae Copeland Lowery, Sr. An Air Force Veteran and a member of the Church of the Living God CWFF, Taylor was an inspector at Wagner Castings for 30 years before retiring in 1991. He married Alma L. Johnson on July 1, 1953 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Alma of Decatur; children: Curtis Zipporah Johnson of Decatur; Terry Ernestine Lowery of Cincinnati, OH; Mary Bell of St. Louis, MO; brother, Robert Lowery, Sr. of Kansas; nieces and nephews: Charles & Eddie Elem; T.O. Reed; Freddie Mae Lowery and Diane Ballard; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Taylor was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Freddie Bell and sister, Lilly Mae Lowery.
The family of Taylor Lowery, Jr. is being served by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur.
