Teresa Lorraine Kapper's Obituary
Teresa “Lorraine” Kapper, 88, of Decatur, formerly of Niantic, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Lorraine was born November 9, 1923 in Decatur, daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Hines Rakers. She was a member of Resurrection Parish, Illiopolis, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur and St. Anne’s Altar Society. She was also involved with, Girl Scouts, 4 H, Right To Life and volunteered at the Good Samaritan Inn and French Academy. She married Wilfred A. “Bud” Kapper December 1, 1945 in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband, Bud; children:Rita Carl Fieldbinder of Rochester, Robert Jackie Kapper of Illiopolis, Thomas Debbie Kapper of Decatur, Michael Kapper of Illiopolis, Terry Brenda Lea Kapper of Decatur, Teresa Kapper of Decatur, Susan Mike Hawkins of Manchester, TN, Patty Don Rogers of Illiopolis, Joan Kapper of Mt. Auburn and Paula Carey of Mt. Auburn; 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; sisters: Norma Rakers and Pauline Hays of Decatur; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon Grossman; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family will receive family and friends Friday, January 20, 2012 from 5 to 8 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer service 4:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will follow an hour visitation from 9:30 am until the service time of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, in Resurrection Parish, Illiopolis, Rev. Richard Weltin celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Right To Life.
