Teresa M. Schroll's Obituary
Decatur – Teresa M. Schroll, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Teresa was born on June 27, 1923 in Mt. Pulaski, the daughter of Aloysius E. and Clara M. (Blank) Kapper. She was a member of the Macon County Farm Bureau Women’s Organization, Macon County Homemaker’s Cooperative Extension Association and a charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She married Orville E. “Gene” Schroll on October 16, 1943 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Decatur and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents and son-in-law, Ben Wood.
Surviving is her son, Gary (Jillene) Schroll of Decatur; daughters: Connie Wood and Mary Lou (Bob) Glenn of Decatur; sons: Rickey (Brenda) Schroll of Savage, MN and Ronald (Sandra) Schroll of Concord, NC; ten grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and 11 step great-great grandchildren; sisters: Matilda Rennier and Isabelle Blakeman of Decatur; brothers: Wilfred Kapper of Decatur, Maurice “Pete” (Doris) Kapper of Forsyth and Virgil (Charlotte) Kapper of Decatur; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mass of the Christian Burial celebrating her life will be 10 am Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Rev. Richard Weltin celebrant. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer service will be held at 4:30 pm. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or Donor’s Choice.
Teresa’s faith and family were her treasure.
