Terry Cox's Obituary
Terrence Wayne Cox, 73, of Moweaqua entered the arms of Jesus at 8:44pm on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026. He was born on June 19, 1952, and lived a life marked by dedication to his family. Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julia Cox; his son, Matthew Cox (beloved daughter-in-law, Megan); his sister, Cyndi Seifert (Roger); his cherished granddaughter, Isabella Cox; his dear cousins; and his many nephews and nieces, including Shaunnah Eaton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Geneva Cox.
Terry was a proud Christian, his faith was an important foundation in his life. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and spent his career in sales, where he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of those he worked with.
He found great joy in the everyday moments: spending time with his family, enjoying his routine of watching Gunsmoke, and riding his Harley-Davidson. He especially took pleasure in watching his granddaughter Bella in her many activities, including volleyball and drums. He also loved pranks, telling stories, and jokes, bringing laughter and warmth to those around him. These were the moments that truly defined him and gave him great joy.
A visitation will be held on March 31, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Christian Church Moweaqua, with a graveside service to follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend the graveside service, where the funeral message will be shared. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church of Moweaqua and Prarie Heart Institute at HSHS St. Mary's Hospital of Decatur.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Terry wanted to express his gratitude toward the prairie, cardiovascular consultants. He said Dr. Kola had a very special place in his heart.
