Terry Lee Creason's Obituary
Terry Lee Creason, 78, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Springfield, IL.
He was born in Decatur, IL, on November 5, 1946, to the late Ewing Junior Creason and Doris Scheiwe Creason. Terry served his country in the United States Navy as a BM2 on a Destroyer, earning an honorable discharge as a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He went on to work for many years as dock foreman at General Transfer Trucking, before entering a career as security personnel at the Iowa Department of Public Defense.
Terry married Cathy Jo Stroud on August 15, 1982, spending nearly 44 years by her side. The pair were inseparable and enjoyed passing their time fishing and gardening together. He was a skilled woodworker, who enjoyed building and staining his own projects as well as refurbishing others. Additionally, he was an avid Cardinals fan.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Creason and Cary Creason.
Those surviving include: his wife, Cathy Creason; brother, Jerry Creason; sister, Cheri “Sissy” Creason; as well as ten nieces & nephews and sixteen great-nieces & great-nephews.
Visitation for Terry Creason will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Graveside service and military honors will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Macon County Honor Guard or the American Cancer Society.
