Terry Powell's Obituary
Terry L. “Bear” Powell, 61, of Decatur passed away Tuesday August 30th surrounded by his family. He was born May 6th, 1955 in Salem, Illinois, the son of the late Virgil C. Powell and Phyllis (O’Dell) Powell.
Terry was cremated as was his wish with no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be at a later date in Salem, Illinois where he will be put to rest beside his parents
Terry was a member of the Teamsters and drove a truck for F.W. Means for several years. He loved to play the guitar, sing, and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his brother Tom Powell and wife Jayne of Jones, Oklahoma, Sister Teresa Lee of Decatur, half-sister Cheryl Sullens and husband David of Kinmundy, two children, son Bryan Powell and wife Amber of Warrensburg and daughter Bridget Powell of Warrensburg; four grandchildren, Natalie, Neely, Nolan and Jackson and several niece and nephews.
The family will host a Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, September 3 at Pop’s Place, 4335 W. Main St., Decatur, IL from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
