To all of Theresa's friends and family in Illinois, my name is Loreen Parke and Theresa and I became instant friends when she began her relationship with my cousin Ken Parke. We never met in person, but we did a lot of talking on the phone. She was always so happy and upbeat and every conversation we had left me feeling happy and upbeat myself. I would tease her about how she was spoiling my cousin, especially when she would talk about how excited she was that he would be home the next day or in a couple of days, what ever the case may be…She and I did share stories of past experiences, what we learned from them and how we had moved forward afterward and it was quite obvious that she was in a place in her life that she was so very happy, loving each and every day and excited for the future. I broke my heart when I received this news and my heart goes out to all of her family, her friends and my cousin Kenny, as I know that he loved her every bit as much as she loved him.The one thing that I keep trying to 'go back to' or 'keep in the frontline of my thoughts' is this: As painful and seemingly unfair as it is that her life on this earth ended so quickly and at a time when she (in my opinion gathered from our conversations) was finally on a good path and the happiest that she had been in quite some time, is this: The last year of her life she was the happiest that she had been, she had found purpose, she had found love, she had found a path in life that was meaningful and important to her and she not only recognized it and appreciated it, but she celebrated it every day she woke up and started a new day.I wish I had the chance to have met her in person, but at the same time I can say this with complete honesty: Having known her, if only over the phone, has made me a better person. She often times would be able to give me a window of perspective that I didn't see before our conversation on things that were going on in my life and helped me to see that things were not quite as bad as they seemed. She was a very special person that shared love and happiness with everybody she came into contact with and I will always be thankful for having known her and being her friend, even if for just the short time that she and I had known one another.Loreen ParkeSedona Arizona
