Thomas Hamilton Sims' Obituary
Thomas Hamilton "Tommy" Sims, 13, of Decatur, entered eternal life on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with Hodgkin's disease.
Services celebrating his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004, in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Funeral Home where casual attire is requested. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials to: Thomas H. Sims Memorial Fund.
Tommy was born on December 3, 1990, in Decatur, the son of Richard L. and Judith N. Ellis Sims. He was a student at Thomas Jefferson Middle School and had attended Muffley Elementary school. Tommy loved to play video games, swim, camp, fish, watch NASCAR, ride mini bikes, go karts and spend time with his family.
Surviving is his father, Richard L. Sims of Decatur; mother, Judith N. Ellis of Decatur; brother, Robert S, Flannery of Decatur; sister, Misty Jerry Newingham of Decatur; grandparents: John H. and Anneliese E. Sims and Mary Jane Davis all of Decatur; niece, Britney Newingham and nephew, Billy Newingham of Decatur; several aunts, uncles and numerous other relatives and friends.
His grandfather, William Ellis and best friend Thomas T. J. Byers preceded him in death.
