Timothy D. McWilliams' Obituary
Timothy D. McWilliams, 54, of Oakley passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Tim was born on August 27, 1958 in Decatur, IL the son of Kenneth D. and Patricia (Rapp) McWilliams. He was employed with Stratas Foods in Decatur, IL. He married Carolyn (Klaus) Joplin on December 30, 1987 in Decatur, IL. Tim was a great husband and wonderful loving father. He had great pride and joy in all his grandchildren and he planned to create many memories with them. Tim always enjoyed family time every Sunday for family dinner he was always trying a new cooking experiment. He enjoyed camping and always ready for a great cookout, he also enjoyed four- wheeling and boating with his family and always being the navigator of the boat. Tim is a hot rod enthusiast and proud owner of a 1923 Ford T-Bucket, and former member of Fun Time Cruisers. Passing his knowledge onto his family by always having a project in the garage. Tim was a great compassionate person and willing to lend a hand with any task.
He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered in his family hearts.
Surviving are his Wife, Carolyn; Sons, Timothy Joplin (Crystal) of Saucier, MS; Jay Joplin (Tracie) of Oakley; Kenneth McWilliams of Oakley, Daughter Kari McWilliams of Decatur; Brother, Terry McWilliams (Shawn) of Decatur; Sisters, Teresa Wilson (Josh) of Decatur; Tracy Riggs (Gary) of Argenta; Tina McWilliams of Mt. Auburn; and Grandchildren, Austin Harding, Kasey Joplin, Nick Brown, Savannah Joplin, Tyler Joplin, Matthew McWilliams, and Madisyn McWilliams; Brother-in-law; Carl Klaus (Brenda); of Niantic, Allen Klaus of Kentucky; Larry Klaus (Diana) of Decatur, Bruce Klaus (Kathy) of Decatur, Sister-in-law; Sharon Traughber (Bob) of Decatur. Kathy Chambers (Walt) of Decatur. Multiple nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth McWilliams, Patricia (Rapp) McWilliams, stepmother Margaret McWilliams, mother and father in-law, Carl Klaus Sr. and Mary Klaus.
Funeral service to celebrate Tim's life will be 11 AM Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.
