Timothy William Wayne's Obituary
Timothy W. Wayne, Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, age 61, of Decatur, entered through the gates of heaven on Good Friday, April 18, 2014. Tim was met there by Jesus and his parents, Joe and Mary.
Tim was born August 5, 1952, in Decatur to Joe and Mary Wayne. Tim attended Progress School and MRI in Decatur. In 1991 he moved to Marigold Estates, a group home in Pekin and attended the Highland Center’s Day Program. Tim’s family thanks Marigold Estates and Highland Center’s staff for caring for Tim. Tim spent holidays and frequent weekends with his family in Decatur. He especially enjoyed holiday traditions, backrubs, listening to music, car rides, and visits to McDonalds.
Tim is survived by his three brothers: Jim Wayne and wife Debbie of Bark River, MI; Paul Wayne and wife Debi of Albuquerque, NM; and Rick Wayne and wife Becky of Forsyth, IL; his six sisters: JoAnn Wayne, Michelle Wayne, Judy Rexroad and husband Ed all of Decatur; Mary Kay Crouch and husband Bob of Woodland Park, CO; Patty Downing and husband Gerry, Carol Denson and husband Charlie, all of Mt. Zion, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by his beloved Aunt Bernie Johnson who gave him wonderful backrubs.
Tim was preceded in death by his dad, Joe; his mom, Mary; and his niece, Brittany.
Tim’s sweet and gentle spirit will be missed by all those who loved him.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Decatur; Rev. Richard Weltin, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Memorial may be made to Marigold Estate Activity Fund, Highland Center Day Program at Morton, and St. Thomas Catholic Church.
