Tommie Lee Harper's Obituary
Champaign- Tommie Lee Harper, 84, of Champaign, formerly of Decatur, passed away, Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Illini Heritage Rehab & Health Center, in Champaign, Illinois.
A Home Going service to celebrate the life of Tommie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. till the time of the Service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
Tommie was born November 15, 1927 in Corinth, Mississippi; Tommie was a loving mother and a caring grandmother. She later moved to Decatur, Illinois where she met and married James W. Harper. He preceded her in death November, 1980.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Upshaw of Champaign, grandchildren; Tearinee (Jeffrey) Boyd of Champaign, Gradis Upshaw III of Champaign, O'Keia (Aaron) Archie of New York, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Tommie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one son Richard Harper, and son-in-law Gradis Upshaw Jr.
