Tommy Johnson's Obituary
Tommy Johnson, 68, of Decatur, departed this life Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in his home.
Tom, as we knew him, was born September 16, 1943 in Perthshire, MS, to the union of Lizzie and Jim Johnson. He moved to Decatur in 1965 and began working at CB&Q until its closing. He loved to play cards, BBQ, cook and travel. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather. He will truly be missed.
He leaves not to morn but to cherish fond memories his soul mate, Louise Chatman of Decatur; daughter, Angelique Chatman of Decatur and son, Tommy Berry of NC; sister, Arletha Johnson of Gunnison, MS; brothers: Archie & Frenchie Johnson of Decatur; grandchildren: Shaniqua Bradford, Marrisha Blyhe, Adrian Chatman, Terrica Patterson, Jordan Chatman, Maranda Chatman, Devante hill, an Latania Johnson all of Decatur; step-children: Eva, James and Anthony Chatman; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews; special cousin, Robert Jackson; and special nephew, Lloyd Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters and ten brothers.
Homegoing service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
