Vera Len Glass' Obituary
Vera Len Glass was born June 23, 1915 and returned to her heavenly home on April 18, 2018. Vera was born to the late Thomas and Cordelia Brown in Clarksdale, Mississippi and had a wonderful family of siblings, Cordelia, Olivia, Thomas and Bud (all deceased). Vera later married Robert Glass Sr. (deceased) and their union produced five children: James, Robert Jr., Steve (Linda), Catherine and Olivia.
Vera was active in church at St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, superintendent and choir member. Her lifelong belief in God gave her peace and took her to a better place in heaven. She was a member of a singing group called the Evening Stars and an avid gardener. Family was very important to her and she helped raise her nephews James and Trusta Dean.
Vera is survived by her five children, her granddaughters Stacey and Dana Glass, her great grandchildren Kylen and Kyleia Glass and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Vera’s wonderful doctors: Dr. John Waters, Dr. Faisal Bukhari and Dr. Phillip Alward. The family would also like to thank the pastor and prayer team from Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:00AM at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
