Vernon L. Mendenall's Obituary
Vernon L. Mendenall 89 of Moweaqua, IL died Friday February 9, 2007 in his home.
Funeral services celebrating Vernon's life will be held at 11:00 Monday February 12, 2007 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Vernon was born on October 9, 1917 in Franklin County, Illinois the son of Arlin and Julia Glasko Mendenall. He served his country proudly in the US Navy. He worked as an insurance salesman for over fifty years. He was loved and respected by everyone he came in contact with. He married Ruby Johnson on February 25, 1970 in Champaign, IL.
Surviving is his wife Ruby, sons, Daniel Phillipi Mary of assumption, IL; Bill Best of Decatur; daughters, Shelia Trussell and Brandi Wall both of Mowequa, IL; brothers, Troy Mendenall of Mt. Zion, IL; and Jack Mendenall Gloria of Decatur; sisters, Dovie Mitchell and Judy Milo both of Decatur; Barbara Eubanks Gary of Sesser, IL; thirty-five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, George Mendenall, Jack Mendenall and Robert Lee Mendenall, one daughter, Shirley Cutright, one brother, Leo Mendenall, one sister, Faye Drew.
