Vernon W. Cox's Obituary
Vernon Wayne Cox, 67, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, October, 22, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Wayne was born on July 7, 1944 in Decatur the son of Charles and Edith Johnson Cox. He was the owner of Wayne’s Used Cars. He liked to play the Lottery and go gambling.
He is survived by his sons, William Wayne Cox Kim of Vandalia; Steven Cox Heather of Vandalia; daughters, Trynda Dietz of Decatur; Clara “Missy” Jay Rick of Vandalia; Misty Pressey of Tampa, FL; Joyel Meadows of Decatur; Lynette Cox of Decatur; Katrina Cox of Decatur; brothers, Leo “Buddy” Cox Diane of Peoria; Charles Cox Brenda of Decatur; 54 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, and life partner, Shirley Cox.
Visitation will be 10 -11 am Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Private family service will be in Graceland Cemetery.
