Veronica J. "Ronnie" McQueen's Obituary
Decatur – Veronica J. “Ronnie” McQueen, 76, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, in her home with her family by her side.
Veronica was born on March 10, 1950, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Gertrude (Ragsdale) Eckart. She was a homemaker and member of Logos Church, Fraternal Order of the Eagles (FOE), and former member of Ss. James & Patrick Parish. She held many state offices for the FOE and was past state president of the FOE auxiliary. Ronnie married Ronald McQueen on March 16, 1968, in Decatur, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Decatur; daughter, Janet McQueen of Decatur; grandchildren: Clint (Jessica) McClure and Halee (Andrew) Clendenen; great granddaughter Kinslee and another great granddaughter Harley on the way; sister Polly Hoover of Decatur; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents and fourteen siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10 am Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
