Viola M. Neihart's Obituary
Viola M. "Vi" Neihart, 93, of Decatur, died on Tues, Nov. 14, 2006 in her home.
Concelebrated Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 am Thurs. Nov. 16, 2006, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Holy Family Catholic Church.
Vi was born on June 25, 1913 in Stringtown, the daughter of George and Anna Blank Bruder. A member of Holy Family Catholic Church Vi worked at Haines & Essick for more than 20 years before retiring, prior to that she was the manager at Leetz's Dress Shop. She married Daniel Richard Neihart on Feb. 16, 1932 in and he preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1990.
Surviving is her children: Richard Linda Neihart and Susanne Maurice Banks all of Decatur; sisters: Georganna Scammahorn, Mary Welsh and Dorothy Jestis all of Decatur; brother, George M. Bruder of Decatur; grandchildren: Danny Banks, Cindy Booth, Terri Chance, Pam Mitchell, Patrick Banks, Thomas Neihart and Tracy Neihart; great grandchildren: Jennifer, Bryan, Trisha, Tara, Daniel, Travis, Haley, Evan, Kylie, Cole, Brooke and Layne; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Vi was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Lucille, Leona.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Vi's granddaughter, Pam Mitchell for her kindness & special care that she gave her grandmother throughout her time of illness. We thank you Pam!
The family would also like to thank all the caregivers, including the staff at St. John's Hospice; Fr. Joe, Sister Marianne and all of Vi's friends for all of their care and concern.
