Virginia Carter's Obituary
Virginia Ann Carter, 70, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away October 28, 2025.
Virginia was born in Decatur on July 29, 1955, the daughter of Loren and Virginia (Garren) Carpenter. She married Gary Carter on September 21, 1974, in Decatur. She had several different occupations throughout her life, with the most recent being a food service worker for the Decatur Park District. She was a faithful and treasured member of West Decatur Church of God. She enjoyed bowling, shopping, swimming in her backyard pool, and playing games on her iPad. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She will be greatly missed.
Virginia is survived by her husband Gary; daughters Carrie Carter and Nichole (Robert) Renn, both of Decatur; sister Belinda (John) Roy of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren Blaine (Kassie), Kaleb, Alexis, Kylie, and Carter; great-grandchildren Jaylen, Jaylei, Joyce, Jazleigh, and Julien; fur babies Bayleigh and Bentley; granddogs Skye and Xander; great-granddogs Kooper and Jaxx; and cherished chicken Dusty. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gene Carpenter.
Visitation for Virginia will be from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, November 3, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 10am Tuesday, November 4, also at the funeral Home. Burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be directed to West Decatur Church of God. Condolences may be shared with the family at https://www.moranandgoebel.com.
