Virginia Helen Malloy's Obituary
Virginia H. Malloy, 88 of Decatur died Monday August 2, 2004 in her home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday August 5, 2004 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. James O'Shea as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Virginia was born on September 30, 1915 in Oakley Twp. the daughter of James William and Gertie Weikle Andrews. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Aux. Legion of Mary, the Secular Order of Franciscans. She worked as a LPN for Decatur Memorial Hospital retiring in 1977. She was a volunteer for the DMH AUX, Good Samaritan, and St. Thomas Church. She married Walter Lawrence Malloy on August 24, 1936 in Decatur he preceded her in death on December 2, 1985.
She is survived by her sons, Walter R. Malloy and wife Virginia and Larry J. Malloy and wife Martha; daughter, Virginia E. Gabriel all of Decatur; brother, Frank Andrews and wife Gloria of Santa Maria, CA; sister, Mae Schmidtt of Baltimore, MD, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, John Malloy, one son-in-law Bob Gabriel, three sisters, and one brother.
We the children of Walter Lawrence and Virginia Helen Andrews Malloy feel very blessed to have had such wonderful parents as role models. Although we'll miss our darling mother, we know she is now in heaven with our dad and our brother John, Just as she wanted.
