Virginia Ruth Sampson's Obituary
Virginia Ruth “Jennie” Sampson, 88, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed away December 20, 2024, at her daughter’s home.
Jennie was born in Taylorville, Illinois, on August 13, 1936, the daughter of John and Virginia Kinnett. She married James M. Sampson Sr. on August 7, 1955. He preceded her in death.
Jennie is survived by her children Cheri Young of Taylorville, Terri (Paul Leib) Sampson of Shelbyville and James (Jan) Sampson of Pleasant Plains; grandchildren: Hannah Farmer, James Cooper, Jamie (Thomas) Arthur, Jacie Patton, Josh (Theresa) Jones, Jamison (Donna), Jordan (Becca) Jones, Jacob (Tracie) Sampson, Jarred (Jessica) Sampson, Jacqlin Fair, Britney (Levi) Denton, and Pam (Damian) Larson. Jennie has been blessed with twenty-five great grandchildren with another on the way. Jennie is also survived by her sisters Janet Brown and Karen Creviston and brother-in-law, Alfred Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mitzi Cooper, sister, Shirley, grandson, Jevon, son-in-law Kenny Young, and brothers-in-law Donald Brown and Dave Creviston.
We will celebrate Jennie’s life on January 4, 2025 at the VFW Hall in Shelbyville from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
