Vola Estell West's Obituary
Vola Estell West, 83, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Vola was born on January 28, 1928 in Moss, TN the daughter of Harrison and Nancy Pennington Likens. She worked as a security guard and head of house keeping at Citizens Bank. She also worked as a seamstress at Osgood and Sons. She married Charles L. West on May 29, 1948 in Tennessee. He preceded her in death in July of 1985.
Surviving are her daughters, Audrey Johnson of Decatur; Nelda Oakley of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Mindy Rose Kevin of Decatur; Christina Key Lonnie of Dallas, TX; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son-in-law, John Oakley, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral service celebrating Vola’s life will be 10:00 am Wednesday February 16, 2011 in GT Church, 500 S. 27th Street, Decatur with Pastor Bob Hoover officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 ' 7:00 pm Tuesday in GT Church. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery.
