Walter E. Cooper's Obituary
Walter E. Cooper, 82, of Decatur, passed from this life on Friday, December 4, 2009 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Walter was born October 7, 1927, in Brownsville, TN, the son of Noah and Dora Cole Cooper. A member of Church OF The Living God PGT Temple #2, Walter worked as a machinist for John Deere. He married Maggie R. Kellar in September of 1994 in Brownsville, TN.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Maggie of Decatur; son, Michael Cooper of Nashville, TN; step children: Shirley Kenneth Beasley, Edgar Perry, Jr., James Dorothy Perry, Vernetta Perry, Flossie Perry, and Mae Floyd Williams all of Decatur, Velma Perry and Jerry Ramona Perry of Savannah, GA, Katherine Perry and Alma Perry of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Louise Freeman of Decatur; 14 step grandchildren, 26 step great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Herbert, Andrew, Sidney, Charlie, and Benjamin; sisters: Ruby, Henrietta, and Maryetta.
Homegoing services: 11 am Friday, December 11, 2009 in the Church Of The Living God PGT Temple #1. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Decatur.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hasnain, Dr. Dawood, Dr. Qureshi, Dr. Estrada-Garcia, Davita Dialysis on east Wood, and the staff at Lincoln Manor Nursing Home for the special care and concern shown to Walter and his family.
