Wayne Smok'n OLA Vought's Obituary
Wayne E. Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½SmokÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½n OLAÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ Vought, 49, of Decatur, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in his home.
He was born November 28, 1960, in Springfield, MO, the son of Warren and Jean Darling Vought. Throughout his life Wayne worked at the following businesses: RAC Adjustments, Bill Abbott, Gaither Auto Body, Automotive Repair, Donnelly Machine Shop, and Auto Parts Unlimited. He also operated several businesses of his own, including: VoughtÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½s Auto, C.A.R.S. Auto Body and OLAÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½s Collision. Most recently he was employed at BrownleeÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½s Auto Body in Blue Mound where he had worked previously.
Wayne loved volunteering for the Route 66 Sprint Series especially when his son was racing, playing golf and cards, restoring old cars, drinking beer and shooting the breeze with his friends. Wayne married Jeanette Shelley on July 26, 1980 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife, Jeanette of Decatur; daughter, Michelle Vought and son, Bryan Vought of Decatur; grandchildren: Dominic Henderson and Brynna Vought; father, Warren Vought of Springfield, MO; siblings: Dennis Cyndi Vought, Ray Vought, Warren Sue Vought of Decatur, Dawn Rick Lanham, Paul Lisa Vought and Dale Amy Vought of KY; step siblings: Jimmy Warren of Findlay, Jackie Warren of Illiopolis, and Barb Mowry of Findlay; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and step brother, Ronnie Warren.
The family will host a celebration in WayneÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½s honor on Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 6 pm to ??? at 5675 East Monarch Road, Decatur, IL, 62521.
