Wendell Wayne Watson's Obituary
Wendell Wayne Watson, 91, of Taylorville, formerly of Decatur, died on Monday October 20, 2003 in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville.
Services celebrating his life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2003 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Roger E. Olson Officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the services. Burial will be in Bement Cemetery. Memorials: Faith Baptist Church of South Shores.
Mr. Watson was born on July 13, 1912 in Dalton City, the son of John B. and Emma Brooks Watson. He was retired from the Sunbeam Bakery in Decatur where he held the position of Machine Repairman. Wendell was a member of Faith Baptist Church of South Shores. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He married Ethel Mae Nottingham on August 23, 1930 in Springfield and she preceded him in death on January 20, 1999.
Surviving are his sons: Jerald W. Jackie Watson of Freeport; Michael J. Pat Watson of Decatur; sister, Edna Broughton of Decatur; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
His parents; wife; daughter, Peggy J; 1 brother and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
