Wesley G. Chase's Obituary
Wesley G. Chase, 17, of Decatur, died in his home Wednesday, December 16, 2009 with his family and friends by his side after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis and a double lung transplant.
Wesley was born April 1, 1992, in Fort Knox, KY, the son of Kerry A. McCarthy Sprague. A graduate of Stephen Decatur Middle School, Wesley attended MacArthur High School and New Day Community Church.
He is survived by his mother, Kerry and stepfather Ric Sprague of Decatur; brother, Zach Chase of Decatur; stepbrothers James and Todd Sprague of Decatur; maternal grandparents, Gerald wife, Marsha McCarthy of Forsyth; aunt, Colleen husband, Kirk Vallandingham of Decatur; uncle, Tom wife, Natalie McCarthy of St. Louis, MO; best friend, Mark Merritt of Decatur; cousin, P.J. husband, R.J. McKenzie of Decatur along with several other relatives and friends.
Wesley was preceded in death by his sister Olivia Chase.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral service: 10 am, Saturday, December 19, 2009 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials: Wesley G. Chase Benefit Account c/o Lincoln Land Credit Union, 2980 N. Oakland, Decatur, IL 62526. The family request casual attire.
