Willene "Billie" Rasar's Obituary
Decatur-Willene “Billie” Rasar, 82, of Decatur, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Eastview Terrace in Sullivan.
Billie was born April 5, 1931 in Fountain Hill, Arkansas, the daughter of Finers Willis and Agnes Maybell (Boykin) Slaughter. She was previously employed as a waitress at Schwartz’s and the Signal Depot. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, knitting, and crocheting. She married Dial D. Rasar August 18, 1951. He preceded her in death January 13, 2006.
She leaves behind her son Dial D. (Nadine) Rasar of Decatur, daughter Barb (James) Collins of Macon, grandchildren Aron Rasar, Amber (Janson) Hahn, Kristy (Matthew) Schmahl, Daniel Collins, and Crystal Watts, great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Morgan, Taylor, Landon, Greyson, Brady, Maddox, Scarlet, Jamie, A.J., and Branden, and sisters Maysel Louise Cowgill of Decatur, Marceal (James) Moore of DeRitter, LA, and Margaret Sheets of Decatur.
Billie was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, brother Bobby Wayne Slaughter, and sister Donnie Janette.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Eastview Terrace and Harbor Light Hospice for all of their loving care.
Services to celebrate Billie’s life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1 Bachrach Ct. Decatur, with Pastor Wray Offermann officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
