William E. "Bill" Stanton's Obituary
Decatur-William E. “Bill” Stanton, 90, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 27, 2013.
He was born February 10, 1923 in Bement, the son of James E. and Edna Belle (Holley) Stanton. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army during World War II. He was previously employed with ADM retiring with over twenty-five years of service. He enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, country music especially Johnny Cash, and watching western movies. He married A. Marie Stanton July 13, 1945. She preceded him in death July 16, 2012.
He leaves behind his daughters Marsha L. Stanton of Decatur, Jackie (Bill) Schiminski of Decatur, Paula (Terry) Patton of Taylorville, and April (Bobby) Bone of Sullivan, step-daughters Judy (Myron) Marsh of Indianapolis, IN and Trudy (Denny) Williams of Lebanon, IN, brother Richard A. (Patti) Stanton of Anderson, IN, grandchildren Greg L. Koslofski, Tim Koslofski, Brian (Autumn) Polley, Shannon Sheets, Joshua Sheets, Aron Rasar, and Amber (Janson) Haun, step-granddaughters Julie (J.R.) Auton, Jill (Eric) Friesner, and Jenny (Charley) Hendricks, and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, wife, and three brothers.
Graveside services with military honors will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 in Macon County Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
