William D. "Dave" Riber's Obituary
Decatur – William D. “Dave” Riber, 71, of Oakley, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Dave was born in Decatur on January 18, 1943 the son of William D. and Roxia J. (Segrest) Riber. A U.S. Army Veteran, Dave worked in maintenance at Brettwood Shopping Center before retiring. He loved to mow, cook, and was a Boy Scout as a child. Dave married Sally Dunn on December 1, 1976 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife, Sally of Oakley; children: Tina (Alan) Wilhelm of Cerro Gordo, Frank (Shelly) Kelly of Mt. Zion, and Melissa Riber of Oakley; grandchildren: Heather, Eric, John, and Ben; great grandchildren: Preston, Ciara, Jayden, Keagan, Logan, Madison, and Brayden; along with many other relatives and friends including Gary Van Winkle and Gary Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services to celebrate his life will be 11 am Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Burial with military rites will take place in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
