William Handy Ennis Pease 90 of Decatur died at 3:20 pm Tuesday June 15, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Private Family Graveside Services will be Saturday June 19, 2004 in Illini Cemetery. Memorial Service will be held 11:30 am Saturday June 19, 2004 in Westminster Presbyterian Church where Rev. Steve Hill will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday June 18, 2004 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Handy was born on March 01, 1914 in Warrensburg, Illinois the son of Clarence Everett and Cora Ennis Pease. He worked out of the Carpenters Union Local #742 for many years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder, deacon and maintenance man. Handy was a good father, husband and grandfather to his family, he was a great foreman, not only at work but also at home. Handy enjoyed listening to Christian music, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren he also loved to spend time gardening, fishing. Handy was a dedicated Christian, serving his church in capacity he could, was a dedicated friend. He married Alice Rhodes in Decatur on October 30, 1938; she preceded him in death on August 04, 2001.
Handy is survived by his loving daughters; Alice Bernice Doty and husband Danny of Mt. Zion, Phyllis Morris and husband Carl of Decatur, Janet Arnold and husband Wayne of Candler, NC and Ruth Ann Jackson and husband James of Findley, sister Maryelinor Tanner of Wildwood, Florida. Grandchildren include Michael Doty and wife Sandra, Mark Doty, Doug Arnold, David Jackson and wife Alena, Steve Morris and wife Jeanie, Brad Morris and wife Paula, Mark Morris and wife Monica, Marianne Jung and husband Joel, Clint Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Brett Jackson, Robbie Arnold, and Debbie Butter-worth; great grandchildren include, Hannah Jackson, Alice Jackson, Tyler, Melissa, Brandon, and Kyle Morris, Jackie and Alex Jung; host of other relatives.
Handy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Handy Ennis, three brothers; Ennis, Everett, and Merritt; two sisters, Winifred and Phyllis
