William L. Kaltenbach's Obituary
William L. “Bill” Kaltenbach, 78, of Decatur, died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Kindred Hospital, Northlake.
Bill was born July 2, 1929, in Friends Creek Township, near Maroa, the son of William and Velma McBride Kaltenbach. He worked as supervisor of the Decatur Transit before retiring in 1991. Bill also worked as supervisor for District 61 Bus Service for several years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. He was past President of the School Employees Credit Union and Ralph G. Long Chapter Credit Union. Bill was an avid coin collector and member of the Maroa Alumni Association. He married Marjorie Russell on September 11, 1948 in Decatur and she preceded him in death on July 7, 1998.
Surviving are his daughters: Deborah Kaltenbach, Janet Gary Ransdell of Decatur, Kristina Bob Sullivan of Wisconsin; grandchildren: Bradley Creason, Lisa Creason, Jennifer Jim Butler, Leslie Creason and Jeremy Dow; 13 great grandchildren and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and daughter, Kathy Lynn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, vigil prayer service at 4:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Friday, May 9, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
